Marion Beswick Beidler

San Diego, CA

Marion Beswick Beidler died June 8, 2000, of heart complications at age 88.

She was born in Los Angeles on March 9, 1912 to John C. Beswick, the California State Chief of Vocational Education, and Maude Daley Beswick.

She grew up on a ranch in Florin near Sacramento, graduated from Elk Grove High School, and attended Sacramento Junior College. She graduated from U.C.L.A. in 1942 with a Bachelor in Education, and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She obtained a teaching credential, and taught elementary school in Arcadia.

In 1943, she married Paul W. Beidler, a District Trust Officer for Bank of America. They lived in Ventura and then in Los Angeles, where she was active in fundraising for Cathedral Chapel School and for the Assistance League. They later lived in Hope Ranch in Santa Barbara, where she was active in the Arthritis Foundation, the Bishop High Mothers' Guild, the Immaculate Heart Guild, the Hope Ranch Riding and Trails Association, and the National Charity League.

She resided in Point Loma in San Diego since 1979, where she was a member of A.A.U.W.

She is survived by her brother Robert Beswick of Antioch, her son George Beidler of Trabuco Canyon, and her daughter Marilyn Sobilo of San Diego.

A Mass was celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, 6657 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, on Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at 1:30pm, followed by interment at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
