Paul W. Beidler

Santa Barbara, CA

Paul W. Beidler, Bank of America trust officer who supervised branches in Santa Barbara, Goleta, Santa Maria, Lompoc, and San Luis Obispo, died in his Hope Ranch home on April 25, 1967.

Mr. Beidler, of 4028 Via Laguna, had been ill for several months. He had been district trust officer for eight years.

He was a direct descendent of Jacob Beidler, a member of the expeditionary force of the famed colonial leader, William Penn.

Born in Chicago, on July 11, 1907, he came to Los Angeles with his parents, George and Margaret Young Beidler, in 1917.

He graduated from U.C. Berkeley and earned a law degree at Boalt Hall and Loyola Law School. Admitted to the state bar in 1937, he belonged to the California Bar Association, and bar associations in Santa Barbara County, Los Angeles, and Hollywood, and to Phi Delta Phi law fraternity and Phi Kappa Sigma social fraternity, Berkeley.

He began his banking career as escrow clerk at the Los Angeles main office of the Bank of America in 1941, and was promoted to Assistant Trust Officer in Ventura in 1945. He came to Santa Barbara eight years ago and observed his silver anniversary with the bank in February 1966.

Mr. Beidler was treasurer of the Santa Barbara Memorial Rehabilitation Foundation and of the Legal Aid Foundation and a member of the UCSB Affiliates, La Cumbre Country Club, and University Club.

He was survived by his wife, Marion; a daughter, Marilyn; a son, George, and three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Robinson, Mrs. Dorothy Runyan, and Mrs. Marjorie Wohlwend.

Services were private, directed by the Haider Mortuary.
