Alan Randy Amasia

10/9/1957 - 12/12/2001
Los Angeles, CA

Alan Randy Amasia, known to his friends as Randy, died Dec. 12, 2001 at age 44 of complications from throat cancer at the hands of an uncaring HMO.

Once described as a "Krispy Kream", crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, Randy was known for his sharp wit and loyalty to friends. Staunchly liberal, he was the scourge of phonies, fashion, conservatism, corporate America, disorganized religion, and yuppies; all the while, supporting the causes he believed in. Few knew that he wrote lyrics and poetry. A consummate game show enthusiast, Randy encouraged his many on-line friends to "come out" of the game show closet. His quick mind won him $26,900 on Whoosh and $6900 on Jeopardy. A frequent backstage guest on The Price Is Right, he will be missed by his many friends.

Buried at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, he is survived by his mother, Shirley Amasia.

Alan Randy Amasia is interred in Section 18, Row R, Space 12, at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, 90038.
