Phillip James Bennett

2/14/1935 - 12/15/2002
Los Angeles, CA

Phillip James Bennett was born on February 14, 1935, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Phil grew up a football hero. He graduated from the University of Miami, in Florida, and wore Sigma Chi letters. He played pro ball for the Steelers and the Patriots briefly, before playing nine years in Canada for the Winnepeg Blue Bombers.

He worked as a Merchant Marine for a time, during the Vietnam War.

He finally put down roots in Los Angeles County, and the movie industry, where he toiled for several years as a technical carpenter.

The Rogues' March has sailed, and Phil is probably smoking Pall Malls somewhere!

Phillip James Bennett passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2002, in Los Angeles, California.

He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Bennett and Judy Neff, as well as six nieces, ten grand-nephews and -nieces, and many friends.

No funeral service has been scheduled.

At the family's request, memorial donations, in the name of Phillip James Bennett, may be made to the Vietnam Vets of America, or the Salvation Army.
